sometimes He calms the storm, and other times He calms His child
I have been a very poor student, worker, home renovator, house seller today. I think the enormity of homework, speeches that have to be written for next week, planning that needs to be done, and cleaning/fixing that remains sent me fleeing from it all.
It didn’t help that my six-year-old niece called me to tell me she loves me and ask when I’d be back in town to stay with her. Might as well stab me in the heart as I won’t get there before they get here for Thanksgiving.
In the course of my flight from reality, I discovered vodpod and had great fun uploading some of my very (eclectic) favorite songs. They inspire me, and I’d welcome your feedback on the vodpod. I also figured on the Sonific widget and was able to include Ginny Owens and Mark Schultz with some favorite songs. As a side note, I discovered Ginny O when an old acquaintance re-entered my life at just the time I unexpectedly lost my Dad. “If You Want Me To” got me through many a heart-breaking moment. And “Remember Me” was the first thing I heard on the radio leaving the hospital that wickedly awful final day. It’s not played regularly on the radio but it reminds me when I hear it that Dad’s looking down and smiling.
Nothing like ignoring your time-critical duties with great impunity.
Thanks to www.dobegil.wordpress.com for the help with Sonific!
I couldn’t find a video of Scott Krippayne’s song, “Sometimes He Calms the Storm,” but I did find the lyrics and the audio at the link below (scroll down past the sponsored links):
Have fun with it. I hope you hear just the message you need in this moment. As for me, back to one of those pressing things that really needs doing.
